Project Background
Local artist Jimmy McMenamin, aka Glossblack, opened a new studio in South Jersey. He has expanded from his graffiti roots to become one of the Philadelphia region’s premier muralists, booking high-profile gigs such as large murals in the new Comcast Technology Center. The goal for lighting the new studio was to make the new space “nice and bright” and avoid shadows as there will be a lot of painting done in this space. He also wanted the lighting to have a sleek, modern look. There were very few existing fixtures to retrofit and the budget didn’t allow for new fixtures.
Solution
ECOSTRIP was the perfect solution for this application. The ease of installation, seamless connections and lower cost made it the ideal product to use and it helped to create an even light distribution in this workspace.
ECOSTRIP delivers sufficient lighting without all the maintenance hassles related to fluorescent tubes and ballasts. Installation is made simple with a built-in driver, magnets for retrofit applications or clips for simple ceiling mountings. Seamless connections also allow for long runs up to (58′) 16 bars maximum for surface mount linear.
